Ribery vs Toni extended version

Cool Soccer (Futbol) tricks with some great humor. My league director found this and brought it to my attention.

Very Merry Futsal Christmas

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your Holidays be full of Joy, Blessings, Soccer and Futsal.

Bundesliga

As much as I like Bayern Munich and Schalke 04, it would be so nice to see the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim win it all. They were in the Regionalliga Süd. In 2006-07, they came in second so they were promoted to the Bundesliga 2nd Division. In 2007-08, they came in second which once again the were promoted to 1st Division. They are currently sitting in First Place in the Bundesliga. They have a ways to go, it would be so sweet to see a newly promoted team win it all. Especially with their history. Hopefully the Bundesliga break will not hurt them but we will find out in January 31. Hoffenheim stumbled against Schalke, hopefully they will put that behind them and pour it on the second stretch.
The team is putting some real money for players to build a great team. A small town with a winning team. That's got to be great for the community.

La Liga so far this season

A couple of weeks ago, I watch the super classic between Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. It was a very tight game until Barcelona poured it on in the final moments. That has been their theme. Either blowing out teams the first half our blow them out in the final moments. They are going to be tough to beat.
I am very happy to see Sevilla FC back in second. Love to see them in first but that will be tough againts Barcelona. Sevilla hung tough but fell apart in the final moments. Barcelona attack was just too much in the final moments. Kept knocking on the door with Messi and company.

How sweet-Barcelona vs. Real Madrid

How sweet it is. Barcelona vs. Real Madrid. Barcelona is having a great season The La Liga Champs, Real Madrid is struggling. So much so, the let their coach go. Former Sevilla Coach has taken over for Real Madrid. Despite Barcelona's success this season and Real Madrid's struggles, it will be a great game. Real Madrid will play hard for this one and Barcelona will not take Real Madrid lightly. It should be a great match. I think Barcelona will win but it will not be easy.

I love Spanish La Liga!

Spanish La Liga (Saturday's Matches)

FC Barcelona vs. Sevilla FC: Well, my favorite team Sevilla could not pull it off against a stronger Barcelona. Barcelona out controlled the position againts Sevilla very well. Sevilla had a tough time against Messi and Eto. Except for the three goals, Sevilla's goal keeper did have some nice saves. Two goals of the goal keeper was in a bad position so Messi was able to score.Messi's speed and quickness was too much for Sevilla. Towards the end of the game, there was a bad call on a off side call against Sevilla. Fabiano protested (I agree he was not offsides) which resulted him getting a red card.

Real Madrid vs. Getafe: I will see the replay tonight. I miss this suprising result. Real Madrid losses this match. Their defense so far this season has not been good. Real Madrid has injuries. It's going to be pretty tough for Real Madrid to defend their title if they continue play like they have been this season. Barcelona is a much better team this season. Real Madrid will need to get their act together quickly. Real Madrid will play Barcelona on December 14.

Wow, Barcelona poors it on again

Barcelona is on a roll once again. Blowing out Valladolid. Valladolid is a weak team though.
Real Madrid edged Promoted Malaga. I will have to keep an eye on Malaga.

We will see how Sunday's La Liga Matches fair out.

I most likely will not get to see the matches as I am working a Free Futsal Clinic hosted by Albuquerque Super F League.

What a relief-Things are looking up for Puntarenas FC

It appears there was an agreement between PFC and CCSS. Tomorrow Puntarenas FC will play a historic game against Ramonense in Jaco. First ever in Jaco.
If everything falls into plan it appears PFC could return to their home stadium.
What a relief. It would be great for the fans in Puntarenas to have the team they love return home. That was according to http://pfc.co.cr and http://puntarenasfc.net.
Not that Jaco does not deserve a team of their own but this is Puntarenas's team.
Hopefully they can put the nightmare behind them and build a championship team.
I love Puntarenas FC. Goool Sharks.

What a relief. Puntarenas FC draws dispites off the field challenges

I have been holding off for a week to Blog this but it is time. I was relieved today, Puntarenas FC had a draw against Host Carmelita. Recently Puntarenas FC has been through some real off the field challenges. I am not going to go through the details of Puntarenas FC's recent challenges as I am grasping the situation down there myself. Basically, Puntarenas FC has been homeless for the past week. It appears PFC is going through some tough economic challenges. See article at Click Here for the article in Spanish .
Click article translated in English via google
I will let PFC official statement state the news. Due to an action taken by the Mayor, PFC has been left searching for a place to train and play their home games.
It appears a city Jaco, south of Puntarenas FC could possibly be the new home. I am just shocked that Mayor of Puntarenas would take strong actions a day before a huge game and when the season is ending in a couple of weeks. As I am not judging who is right or who is wrong, I think think any kind of action should have taken place at the end of the season. A community that loves Soccer and their beloved PFC, the community has lost their team. Now they will have to travel to Puntarenas FC's new home to see their beloved team. The fans are the ones who loses out the most.
Their official website (Spanish) is http://pfc.co.cr or another site http://puntarenasfcnet.blogspot.com/
I pray Puntarenas FC will come out of this very strong and build a strong Futbol team for years to come. I also pray for the community of Puntarenas as they now have to traval to see their Puntarenas FC which I am sure many will be unable to. It's not fair.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim-saw them finally

I finally got to see TSG 1899 Hoffenheim the past Sunday. Tape delay but I got to see them beat Hamburg. Hamburg is now dropped to number 3 and Hoffenheim is in 1st. I really like to see Hoffenheim do something this season. It would be a sweet story as a team got promoted two years in a row and make huge noise in the 1st Division in Bundesliga. Long season to go, anything can happen but so far it is a sweet story.

Ouch-River Plate Last Place in Argentina

Yikes, River Plate is currently in last place. The fans will not settle for that.
Boca Juniors currently in 3rd place.
Time is running out.

I smell the burrito-CD Chivas wins againts America

I can smell the breakfast burrito. CD Chivas Guadalajara beats CD America.
My friend and I had a beat if Chivas wins, he buys me a breakfast burrito and if America wins I buy him a Breakfast Burrito. A fun tradition we had for the past three years.

Barcelona smoked this week

Barcelona really put the goals on the first half agains Almeria. Lean, mean goal shooting machine in the early going. Almeria was promoted in the 2007-08 and had a decent showing.
In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona smoked Basel.
Way to goool. I mean go.

La Liga so far

Going through the Spanish La Liga so far.
Promoted CD Numancia after shocking Barcelona in season opener has only managed one draw since and is dead last. CD Numanica has been promoted to La Liga first division before but only managed to stay up for one season. Time will tell. I would like to see CD Numancia make it in the first division, it will be tough.
I knew Valencia would be much better but holy cow, first place. Valencia really tumbled last season, almost in danger of being regulated but survived. Now they must be feeling pretty good.
Sevilla FC: My team is in second. Sweet. I saw them win today. I believe it was the first opportunity I have been able to see them on TV. Gol TV. Busy with our Futsal League. Hopefully Sevilla can hold on. Go Sevilla FC! I would love to see Sevilla FC win the La Liga Title.
Many said Villareal would not repeat the same success this season as last and is currently sitting in 3rd. Long season to go, but they are starting to roll again.
Barcelona in 4th: Fans only expect the best. They want to be number one in the La Liga and UEFA Champions League. That is the right goal. Now the players need to be hungry as well for the top spot otherwise, the fans will get very restless. By the way, Barcelona wants a MLS Team in Miami. Stay tuned to see if that happens. It would be sweet.
Real Madrid in 5th: I thought this would happened last season with the new coach and some new younger players. They proved me wrong and won the La Liga Title last Season. Time will tell if they can poor it on and win it for the 3rd straight time. They fell behind early two seasons ago and caught right up and won the title.
Almeria in 6th: Some said they would not last in La Liga's 1st division. Some picked them to end up on the bottom and be regulated. They finish pretty decent last season and this season, they are smiling in the 6th spot.
Malaga: Nice start in the 1st Division in La Liga. Sitting in 7th.
Real Betis: Having a pretty bad season so far. Finally out of the cellar. Need to get cracking if they wish to stay in 1st Division.
Athletic Balbao: Not doing nearly as well as last season. They had a decent finish last season. 11th which is good for them. Currently they are sitting in 17th place. One spot away in the regulation zone.

Anyway. Season is young. Many changes can take place. I love La Liga!

spoke too soon. Hamburg back on top in Bundesliga

Well, Hoffenheim was in first for a day. With the games today Hamburg is back on top.
I would like to see Hoffenheim do something this season. It would be a great story. Read my yesterdays blog for more details. Hoffenheim was in Regionalliga Sud in 2006-07. Bundesliga 2nd Division 2007-08 and was promoted once again to Bundesliga 1st Division. Hoffenheim is putting some money into the club the past few years. Inquiring some good players to build their program up. Like a comment in my blog (oleole.com) said, go Hoffenheim.
http://www.oleole.com/blogs/jlhgol-soccer-blog/posts/whos-in-first-in-bundesliga-tsg-1899-hoffenheim
The story continues

Big Games in the World of Soccer

What a barn burner between Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid. Real Madrid scoring the last moment to win this Derby. I believe it was a penalty kick.
Monterrey vs. Tigres: Monterrey was winning 1-0 next thing I know, Tigres score 4 fast goals. Monterrey fans must be upset losing so badly so quickly after having a lead most of the game.
Indios vs. America: well what has happen to CD America. On the bottom losing to a team that was promoted up this season. I had to mentioned this game.
Boca Jr. vs. River Plate: Super Clasico. Boca Juniors wins. One of my favorite teams I noticed I do not blog much of anything about them. I will have to change that.

I believe next weekend it is CD Chivas Guadalajara vs. CD America. The Burrito challenge. A friend of mine is a huge America fan and I am really a CD Chivas USA fan but the big game is against CD Chivas Guadalajara. If America wins, I buy him a breakfast burrito and if CD Chivas Guadalajara wins, he buys me a breakfast burrito. We are both skinny, we can afford it.

Who's in First in Bundesliga-TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

Did you noticed who is in first place in Bundesliga? TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. 2006-07 they were in Regionalliga Süd. They finished 2nd. They were promoted to 2nd Division Bundesliga. 2007-08 they finished 2nd and was promoted to Bundesliga 1st Division. Now they are in first place. What a story. We will see if they hold up.
Bayern Munich is currently in 11th. What a slide. New coach, goalie and some other changes. Bayern Munich finally won today.

Barcelona loses to who?

Tough day for Barcelona. Losing to a newly promoted CD Numancia. The heat is on the Club President and the new Manager. Congratulations to CD Numancia. Promoted to the 1st Division and taking on what is suppose to be Mighty Barcelona. CD Numancia won in front of their home crowd. This is the 4th time CD Numancia has been promoted. Let's see if they can change history. Past three times they went back to the 2nd Division after one season. CD Numancia won the 2nd Division title 2007-08.
Barcelona has really struggled on the road. To be a competitive club, you must win at home and win away.
CD Numancia's next game is La Liga Champion Real Madrid. Real Madrid looked flat today and lost. This will be a test for CD Numancia if they really can compete againts the big teams. Small Club playing in a big league. It will be tough.
Real Madrid vs. Deportivo La Coruna: Tough loss for Real Madrid. Deportivo pulled a win againts La Liga Champions. Real Madrid really didn't look that good last year. The whole league was down. Real Madrid was just the best dispite Sevilla, Barcelona and Valencia were down.
Valencia vs. Real Mallorca: Is Valencia back? They sure put a beating on Mallorca who just missed the UEFA Cup Division last season. I didn't have a chance to see the game, once I do, I will post my thoughts. Next game, Osasuna for Mallorca. That game will tell us if they are any good. Osasuna has not been that good, we will see how this plays out. If Mallorca is any good, they should beat Osasuna.

I love La Liga. Glad it is back! :-)

Sweet-New Season is Here

I am so excited that the Bundesliga, La Liga and other League's have kicked off.
Spanish La Liga is my favorite league. Will Real Madrid repeat, will Barcelona reclaim the title?
Many questions will be answered by next May. It will be a exciting season. Villareal was a nice suprise last season as Barcelona, Sevilla FC and Valencia were a major dissapointment. Barca a dissapointment being in third. Yes. I felt they were strong enough to win it all. The big shocker of last season was the tumble of Zaragoza. Going from UEFA Cup to being regulated. Yikes. Major down spin.
Bundesliga: Will Bayern Munich repeat. New Coach and Goalie. The great Kahn has retired. He was fun to watch. Gave 120%. Competition in Bundesliga will be fun to watch.
Mexico: The shocker of last season was the down spin of America. Maybe aging. Changes needed to be made. It was. It will be interesting to see how the rebound this season. Will Cruz Azul repeat? Will Atlante regroup after winning Apertura part of the season but stumbled afterwards. See if they regroup during the Apertura 2008. Will Chivas make some noise this season. They do well during the regular season my can't seem to close the business during the playoffs. I was very happy to see Indios (moved to 1st division) when tonight. My new favorite Mexican Team. Let's see if they can make some noise. It will be very tough.
I am praying for Puntarenas FC to win it this season in Costa Rica. They really fell apart last year.
In Holland, who will win? Ajax, PSV or will someone else take the title this season.

My Picks (late) for Euro 2008 next round to the end

Better late than never. Here are my picks for the next round

Germany vs. Portugal: Does not count. Game already played. I would have picked Portugal which would have been wrong.
Italy vs. Spain: Italy has not played that well. Before the tournament, I would have picked Italy but now, it is Spain.
Croatia vs. Turkey: Despite Croatia hurt, they are playing well and winning. Good middle field. I will pick Croatia to continue.
Netherlands vs. Russia: Russia will be very tough but Netherlands will be tougher. This will be a squeaker but Netherlands will win by one goal.

Semi Finals
Spain vs. Netherlands: Barn burner. Great hard fought game which will result in a Netherlands victory.
Croatia vs. Germany: Rematch. Germany had some challenges with Croatia's mid field. Gave Croatia too much room. Will learn from their lesson. I will pick Germany to seek revenge.

Finals
Netherlands vs. Germany: Not picking these two teams because I am German and Dutch. I now believe this will be the final. I thought it would be the Netherlands vs. Portugal but we know the result. A very exciting final will take place. I pick the Netherlands to be the winner of Euro2008.

It is so nice to have Euro2008 coverage. I have not been able to see the coverage since my vacation in Aruba in 2000. It was a exciting trip. If I was not enjoying the water sports, site seeing, I was watching the Euro2000. A great experience back then and today. It has a World Cup Feeling.

CONCACAF Follow up

1st leg is pretty much in the books.

I was pleased that Netherland Antilles had a draw against Haiti in Haiti. I wish it was a win but, now the Netherlands Antilles are hosting. It's in beautiful Curacao. I've been there. Return leg on home turf should do the trick. Glad I was incorrect on this one. I think Netherland Antilles will win the next leg. I had originally picked Haiti to win but I think it will be tough in Curacao. If Netherland Antilles plays up to their potential, they can do it. Go Netherland Antilles. Gooool Netherland Antilles. I am cheering you on.

USA vs. Barbados: Finally US scores some goals. Well, it is against a weaker Barbados team.

No surprise between Panama vs. El Salvador as Panama is a team on the rise.

Jamaica vs. Bahamas: Ouch! Tough obstacle to overcome.

Costa Rica vs. Grenada: I hope Costa Rica can win the next one, I think they should. It will be at Saprissa's Stadium. Between the home crown, the heat from the fans will left Costa Rica to victory.

Guatemala vs. St. Lucia: Guatemala should continue to roll.

Looking forward to the next round.

Follow Up COCACAF-Netherland Antilles

I got some insight on the Netherland Antilles Team. A comment posted on oleole.com (This blog is imported to oleole.com) stated Netherland Antilles is in the rise. FIFA.com and CONCACAF's website states the same thing. The comment continued "he would be surprised if Netherland Antilles pulls a a win from the Caribbean Super Power Haiti. Netherland Antilles relies on many foreign players mostly from the Netherlands". I also checked Haiti has been on a decline. Good news for Netherland Antilles. The Netherland Antilles is made up with several islands in the Caribbean, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Saint Maarten and St. Eustatius.
Netherland Antilles lost by one goal in a friendly to Venezuela.
See FIFA's article below.
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=719831.html#the+antilles+serious

I can't wait until Sunday to see the match between Haiti and Netherland Antilles.
I will also tape the Euro2008 to view later, I am really enjoying the Euro2008.
Especially the Netherlands winning like they did yesterday against France and earlier vs. Italy.
Most importantly, I need to cheer the US team when they play Barbados.

How sweet it is to be wrong-Euro2008 Netherlands vs. France. And More

Before the tournament, I would have picked France over Netherlands. After them thumping Italy, I picked this game as a draw. How sweet to be wrong. Netherlands wins big again. I am cautiously optimistic. Nice game. Nice defense, some nice attacks. The trio from Real Madrid are really something. All three now have scored in Euro2008. All along I would have picked the Netherlands to beat Romania. Next game. Still stands but I hope this time I am right. Netherlands over Romania. I picked Romania last before the tournament. I am cheering the Netherlands to go all the way. I am stating "cheering not picking". It's going to be very tough.

Italy has not done that well in Euro2008, but that could change. Italy must win the next game or they are finished. Cio. Germany and Portugal will be extremely tough. You can not count out Croatia, they beat Germany yesterday. Croatia is hurt but could be dangerous. Sweden, I am not convinced that they will do much. Good opening game but even if they make it to the knock out rounds, it will be just that, they will be knocked out. Spain has always under achieved with all the talent. You can not count them out. Spain is currently in 1st place in their division. They have the talent to win it all too. I pick Spain to win their Division but will they disappoint their fans during the knock out rounds. Time will tell.

This will be a exciting Euro2008.

CONCACAF-World Cup Qualifying picks for this weekend

I thought I would have some fun and make my picks for CONCACAF. I will include some Caribbean Island Teams as well. Time for a tropical drink, sit back and enjoy the game.
Some games are easy to make based on the books, it appears to be a mismatch. Those can be the dangerous and embarrassing games too. Some Caribbean Ball Clubs I am not familiar with which is why this is going to be fun.

Grenada vs. Costa Rica: Costa Rica should win this match. They have some nice talent on their squad. I am concerned they may not qualify for World Cup but time will tell. I would love to see them qualify. Costa Rica qualified for World Cup 2006 but did not produce results. Grenada is a small island in the Southern Caribbean.

Guatemala vs. St. Lucia: I have been in St. Lucia, along with Cricket they really enjoy their football. As we say in the US, Soccer. Guatemala has a good squad who could qualify for World Cup. They are a rising team in Central America.

Puerto Rico vs. Honduras: Puerto Rico is better known for it's baseball and Honduras has some good Futbol Clubs. I pick Honduras to win this match.

USA vs. Barbados: USA better win this one. Much better team than this beautiful island nation. Some heat is on the US to produce better results. This should be a mismatch but US better never take any team lightly. It appears we are still hurting in some positions but should still win this match.

Haiti vs. Netherland Antilles: I believe Aruba has their own squad but I have visited the ABC islands twice. Very nice places to visit. There are other islands that make the Netherland Antilles. Anyway back to Soccer. Netherland Antilles love their football. Haiti is a much higher rated team. Home field makes a difference. Not sure who is hosting, I am going on the limb and pick Netherland Antilles to lose to Haiti. I hope I am wrong since I am part Dutch. Would love to see Netherland Antilles win this one.

Jamaica vs. Bahamas: Based on much higher ranking, I will pick Jamaica to win this one.

Belize vs. Mexico: I guess Mexico has to play everyone. This should be a easy one for Mexico to win under their new Coach.

Panama vs. El Salvador: Many people are saying Panama is a rising ball club. El Salvador has some decent ball clubs and maybe be known more for Football instead of Panama. Panama has a better team, higher ranked and I will Panama to beat El Salvador.

This is why I love the CONCACAF. So much variety. You have large countries like US, Mexico and Canada competing You have great Soccer Nations like Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras. Then you have small Caribbean Nations like Jamaica, Barbados, Belize and many more. It maybe a mismatch but every Country deserves a chance. No matter how big or how
small.
I love Soccer at all levels too. From Big Ball Clubs in Europe to various ball clubs (larger & small) in Central America to the ball clubs in South America. This weekend I am looking forward to watching some Caribbean Nations play for their nation. Two CONCACAF matches are on GOL TV. Haiti vs. Netherland Antilles and Jamaica vs. Bahamas. I can't wait. I will sit back, have a fruit smoothy and enjoy the games.

Euro 2008 Thoughts

There were a couple more surprises for me. Germany losing to Croatia today. It was my understanding Croatia had some injuries. I thought (still can happen) Germany will win the whole Euro 2008. Great players. I thought Croatia with the injuries, Germany would win this one. I am still shocked with Sweden's win over defending champion Greece. Greece, one of the top teams in the World losing to Sweden who has struggled over the years.

Italy vs. Romania: Good match. Italy is under some heat. I will pick Italy to win this one. They mabe adging I still think they have what it takes to win.

Netherlands vs. France: Sorry France, I am cheering on the Netherlands. I am part Dutch. I did pick France over Netherlands but I hope the Netherlands prove me wrong. This could end in a draw. Does this seem to be a polititian answer? I will go againts my original pick and will pick this game to end in a draw.

My South America 2010 World Cup Qualifiers Picks

Here are my picks for the South America World Cup Qualifiers for this weekend.

Uruguay vs. Venezuela: Venezuela is a rising team. They proved that with a friendly win against Brazil. Uruguay is a good ball club. They are hoping to do better than the first round. I will pick Uruguay to win. They are a good ball club and will come out to play.

Peru vs. Columbia: Peru didn't play very well in the first round. Columbia has a pretty decent squad. I will pick Columbia to win this match.

Brazil against first place Paraguay: Brazil won of the top teams in the world will come out hungry against a good Paraguay squad. Brazil which had a shocking defeat in a friendly game against Venezuela. Brazil will come out hungry with full guns loaded. It will be a good squeaker game, I pick Brazil to edge Paraguay. The heat is on Brazil's coach.

Argentina vs. Ecuador: Number 1 team in the world against struggling Ecuador. Ecuador has a new Coach, it will be interesting to see the results. Argentina is coming off a shocking draw against the US. I don't think Argentina took US seriously enough not to take anything away from our draw. Argentina has some of the best players in the World on their squad and should beat Ecuador.

Bolivia vs. Chile: Last place Bolivia against Chile who has struggled. Chile has the better ball club which I think Chile will win this match.

Uruguay vs. Peru: Uruguay has the better ball club. Peru has not played that well. I pick Uruguay to win this match.

Bolivia vs. Paraguay: Worst against the best in the standings. Bolivia is not strong enough to handle Paraguay. Upsets can happen, I think Paraguay will come out as I do pick Paraguay to lose to Brazil. Paraguay to beat Bolivia.

Ecuador vs. Columbia: Nice match but Ecuador has not played that well. The heat will be on. Columbia is a fine club and will win this match.

Brazil vs. Argentina: What a smoker. Super Classic. Both teams fully loaded. I will actually pick this game to end in a draw as it will be a hard fought match on both sides.

Venezuela vs. Chile: The rising ball club Venezuela against Chile. I think this will be a hard fought game and will end in a draw.

I am making these picks without knowing who is hosting. I do know Bolivia is hosting Paraguay. I saw an article regarding the condition of the playing field.

One Suprise one no suprise

I was not surprised that Spain had beaten Russia. Spain has a stronger team, some elite players on elite teams. Russia has been on the rise.
I was pretty surprised that Sweden had beaten Greece. I felt Greece had a stronger squad. They are defending the trophy. Sweden came out to prove that they should get some respect. I picked Sweden to finish last in their division. Time will tell if I am way off. Greece will come back. They have a good squad. I felt this match did not have many attacks. Very cautiously played game. I dosed off at one point. Greece had more time of possession but the result was different.

Today's Euro 2008 Picks

Spain againts Russia: Spain will win this match. Better ball club. Russia is on the rise but Spain is a much better team. Spain is ranked number 4 and Russia is ranked number 24.
Greece againts Sweden: Sweden is not as good as they have been in the previous years. Greece is in the top 10. A rising national team. Greece will win this match.
Other than Spain, I have not seen the other Teams. I have to go by history, ranking and what I have read.

Monday, June 9, 2008

wow-spoke too soon. Suprises today at Euro2008

Wow. My wish came true. Netherlands whipped Italy. I did not see that coming but I am so happy my predictions was wrong. Great win. Next they will face France which was dissapointing today. France will come out hungry as they could only master a draw againts Romania.
Great win Netherlands.

No suprises so far in Euro 2008

I have not seen any of the matches as of yet, there have not been any suprises for me so far.
  • Czech Republic is a better team than the host Switzerland.
  • Portugal with some great players like Pepe, Deco and Ronaldo beating Turkey.
  • Germany beating Poland. Germany can win it all, but France and Italy will have something to say.
Today, I pick France to beat Romania and I hope I am wrong on this one. Italy to beat Holland. I want Holland to win the whole thing. Holland is in a very tough division but they still have a great team. Who knows, they can suprise me.

Sunday, June 8, 2008

Wow!Brazil looses friendly to Venezuela??

I am totally stuned that Brazil lost to Venezuela. Brazil one of the top teams in the world losing to a vastly improved Venezuela. Brazil is still a much better team than Venezula. Venezuela use to be the laugh of South America. Always loosing big. I did not see the game. The heat will be on for Brazil. Now they really need to rebound and play at their best during the World Cup Qualifyers. Maybe it is a good thing. They learned they can not under estimate any team.

My Euro 2008 Picks

Here are my picks for Euro 2008. I had already done my picks on another site, I thought I would post here as well, even though the games had already started. I have not kept track so far due to my envolvment in Futsal. So here are my picks for each division.

Switzerland
Turkey

Group B
Germany
Croatia
Poland
Austria

Group C
Italy
France
Holland (love to see Holland win the whole thing but too tough of a Group)
Romania

Group D
